In the first edition of Esperienze Italiane, we welcome you to the region where Leo’s roots belong: Friuli-Venezia Giulia. A land of rolling hills, the majestic Dolomites, timeless towns and, of course, endless vineyards.

Where we will be staying

Our home for the New Year Experience is a historic villa in Tarcento, in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

Spanning three floors, it features three large bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The villa offers a fully equipped kitchen, a wine cellar and much more... even a local bar!

What we will be doing

Throughout the week, we will explore and taste the whole variety of landscapes, food and wines that Friuli has to offer. From iconic mountain towns to medieval fishing villages, every day will be a memory for all your senses. Even if the places seem many, this is not a sightseeing experience but an italian slow life vacation at its best.

Il Collio

The Collio region is a small, hilly wine-producing area in northeastern Italy, located near the border with Slovenia. It is famous for its high-quality white wines.

Monte Santo di Lussari

This tiny local alpine village offers panoramic views and local flavors. We will reach it at 1800m after a scenic cable-car ride.

San Daniele del Friuli

This town is the capital of a world-renowned dry-cured ham called Prosciutto di San Daniele. Here we will have Linda's favorite pasta for dinner after an enjoyable aperitivo.

Trieste

Trieste is the capital of Friuli, a major port-city where Italian, Slavic, and Austro-Hungarian influences blend into a unique cultural mix. It’s known for its grand architecture, historic cafés, and a distinctive Central European charm.

Udine

Leo's hometown and historical capital of Friuli. Needless to say, the best spots, local foods and wines are guaranteed here.

Cividale

Founded by the Romans, served as the capital of the first Lombard duchy in Italy, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site with significant Roman and Lombard historical relics.

Olime koos Leo ja Lindaga 2 päeva Leo kodulinnas - Udines. Tundsime end nendega koos nagu “salakohalikud”. Nad viisid meid kohalike lemmikrestoranidesse ja kohvikutesse kuhu ise ei oleks osanud minna. Kogesime ka autentset Aperitivo kogemust, kus kohtusime Leo tuttavatega. Nägime Udine vaatamisväärsuseid ja see oli pigem meeldiv jalutuskäik läbi linna kui orienteerumisvõistlus võõras kohas.

Kaspar ja Gerly

Äärmiselt personaale lähenemine jättis Udine piirkonnast väga hea ja koduse tunde. Neil on valikus väga palju toredaid kohti, kuhu niisama turistina ei satuks, aga need annavad reisile väga suure võlu.
